Photo a Day 40 - Mellow Yellow

Visiting a friend's garden recently I came across this showy patch of flowers that looked perfect for "Monday Mellow Yellows" meme. The only time I have much yellow in my garden is during spring when the daffodils are blooming - then it is a mass of yellow. Perhaps I should plant more yellows in my garden.

They look orange in the shot above, but they are definitely a mellow yellow seen up close.

Can anyone put a name to these please? I know I know them, but the name has slipped my mind.

  2. Well they look like orange lilies to me. The kind they use in Northern Ireland around the 12 July when all the bands are marching!!!
