Photo a Day 34 - Our World Tuesday and Rubbish Tuesday

I am linking this blog with "Our World Tuesday" and "Rubbish Tuesday". For more great shots use the links at the bottom of this post.

In my post on Sunday I mentioned that I am ereally keen on photographing the old buildings in the Australian rural areas.  This is the old derelict cottage that goes with the barn in my Sunday post.

I often wonder what this land would have looked like before Europeans moved in and cleared it for farms. By the look of the gum trees (Eucalyptus) in the background it would have been fairly dense scrub. The trees close to the old house are the remains of the orchard I think. They are certainly not natives.

  11. Lovely photo of old buildings whispering of those who lived and died there. I am sure their laughter also echoes through the stones and under the beams of roofs that are collapsing. I can't help but think of daily lives being spent day after day, until one day everyone left and now it's been empty for years.
