Friday Fences

Sometimes fences really surprise me. My fence today is the entrance for one of the largest and most influential racing horse studs in Australia. Lindsay Park was for a number of years one of the two top breedintg/training establishments in Australia. At its helm was Colin Hayes one of the gurus of Australian racing  who became one of the most successful breeder/trainers in the world despite his humble beginnings at a boilermaker. Lindsay Park was taken over by Colin's son David on his death and was later sold for many millions of dollars.

The gate is surprisingly modest considering the property behind it. Lindsay Park was built by Sir George Fife Angas one of the founders of South Australia. Quite frankly I would have expected a much grander entry.

This looks a little mor like a horse racing establishment. They have a turf and a dirt track to train on.

  1. Lovely- I started following a fence theme a long while back but just never had the time to devote to posting in it, but I like to view them!
