Civil War Quilt

Nearly there with this BOM that I have agonised over. A few weeks ago I was asking if anyone knew where I could get some red and beige stripe from the Nancy Kirk Civil War range. No luck with the red, but I was able to get some of the stripe in green, but somehow it lacks the zing of the red in the original.
I have found another red though and this may do instead. Have a look at the photo and tell me what you think. The quilt has a strip of the red on the left and the green on the right. Which one??? Thge colours in the photo are not as rich as they are really - had to use the flash to get a clear shot, but you get the idea.

  2. Your quilt is beautiful Liz. I like the green border, rather than the red. I think the green works in the the other colours in the quilt, whereas the red takes over a bit. (Just my opinion of course!)

  3. I made my choice, read other comments and had to go back to picture for another look. But really I prefer the red, which is typical because you cant get enough of it. To me is the added bit of zip to the quilt. Its a wonderful quilt Liz.

  4. I like the red, too. But maybe you could incorporate both? A sliver border of one and a wider border of the other?

  5. I'm going Green Liz, more restful to my eyes... lovely quilt. Good Luck with your decision.

Sorry can't help myself... have to do a Word Verification... Blame Lindi.

  6. Although the red has a lot of zing (and I love it) I don't think it goes with the rest of the quilt. Seems to hit you too hard and detract from the rest of the quilt.

  8. the red would be very overpowering. How about a thin red strip and then the green border. The thin re strip would draw in the red in the stars
